If you're looking for a chance to walk down the red carpet, dressed as your favorite star and have your picture taken by fans and paparazzi, check out theUltra LuxeCinemas at the AnaheimGarden Walk. They are holding an Oscar viewing party, hosted by Cal State Fullerton's College of Communications.

"This is our second year holding the event with the theater," said MichaelKarg, Director of Development, College of Communications,CSUF. "It's a fun way to watch the show and bring the community together."

Attendees will be able to head down the carpet beginning at 4 p.m., an before the live show starts at 5 p.m., on Oscar night.

The event includes bottomless popcorn and soda, access to theUltra luxeLounge, raffles, prizes, student volunteers and two student hosts, who may give Billy Crystal a run for his money.

The popular event is $15. Advance tickets are recommended and available at the box office.

 

The VIP experience

Those looking for a little more glitz andglamour,KimeraRestaurant & Lounge in Irvine is hosting their4thAnnual Red Carpet Event.

This pricier, 21 and over, event requires reservations. Those made before Feb. 22 are $65 a person, and $75 a person after, with VIP also tables available.

The event includes red carpet interviews, awards for Best Dressed and other categories, a dance performance, as well ash'doeurves, and a dinner buffet that includes one signature cocktail.

Additionally, raffle tickets and a silentacutionwill benefit the Alzheimer's Association.

The event begins at 5 p.m. Oscar night and attendees must dress to impress.

The restaurant recommends making reservations quickly as the event often sells out.

The Oscars from the comfort of your couch

If you're opting to stay home and host your own Oscar viewing party, but haven't seen all the best picture nominees, don't fret because two local theaters have you covered.

AMCTheatresis hosting their annual Best Picture Showcase with two different events.

At AMC Tustin 14, you can attend the two-day showcase. First on Feb. 18, AMC will show four films beginning at 11 a.m. The films include "War Horse,""Moneyball," "The Tree of Life," and "The Descendants."

At 11 a.m. on Feb 25, the theater will show "Hugo," "The Help," "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close," "The Artist and Midnight in Paris." One-day passes are $30 for the first day and $40 for the second, however you can save $10 by purchasing tickets for both days together.

In addition to the films, moviegoers will receive a $5 AMC gift certificate for each day, as well as a commemorative poster of the event, and Stubs members receive $5 in additional "Bonus Bucks" for each day.

For the true Oscar enthusiast

AMC Tustin 14 recommends getting tickets as soon as possible and is located at 2457 Park Avenue, Tustin.

For the hardcore moviegoer, AMC 30 at The Block is offering a one-day movie marathon event, all nine Oscar nominated films will be shown starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25 and end at 6 a.m. Sunday.

This $60 event also includes a $10 AMC gift certificate, a commemorative poster and Stubs members receive $10 in bonus bucks.

An AMC spokesperson recommended getting tickets for the event as soon as possible as tickets are going fast and are expected to sell out. The theater is located at 20 City Boulevard, Orange.

Both AMC events will include an intermission and tickets can be purchased at the theater box offices.
